15 Jun 2017 Hop Blossom Brewed a Successful Day
As we wrap up the fifth annual Hop Blossom Craft Beer Festival, we are excited that we were able to host another successful community event in Old Town. Beautiful weather maximized the turnout as approximately 2,500 guests participated in this year’s festival and brought a total attendance of 4,000 visitors to Old Town throughout the day. We are very happy to raise $12,000.00 that will enable the Winchester SPCA and GoodDogz.org to help homeless animals find their forever homes throughout the area. We have also been told that many businesses in Old Town were packed with new faces, visitors and residents. We are incredibly happy and grateful for another successful festival.
With each year, we strive to improve the event, however Hop Blossom continues to be an enormous undertaking and we would like to extend a special thanks to the following people. Without them, the Hop Blossom Craft Beer Festival would not continue to thrive and grow. Our festival team consisting of Mark Bates (Community Events & Promotions), Charlie Fish (Murphy Beverage Company), Eric Boyers (Valley Homebrew), Tim Arndt (Shenandoah Valley Homebrewer’s Guild), Dan McCoig (Winchester Ale Sampling Society), Holly Redding & Bonnie Landy (Winchester Brew Works), Lori Hovermale (Escutcheon Brewing), Patrick Rodgers, Faye Guerra, David Delo, Joel Richardson, Danielle Spriggs, Neville Patton and Wade Baker, worked as a wonderful and effective group in order to create this dynamic event. The Winchester Police Department have once again kept festival guests safe and continue to be a wonderful team to work with. Many thanks to our friends at BB&T, Shenandoah University, The Bright Center and the Old Court House Civil War Museum who support us by providing access to their facilities. Our regional VA ABC agent, Kevin Weatherholtz, was once again a helpful resource to ensure the festival was in compliance with ABC regulations. The outpouring of interest in volunteering was incredible and we are forever grateful to each and every volunteer who supported the event – from planning to day-of help. We’d like to extend a very special thanks to local Winchester business owners and various agencies of the City of Winchester for again supporting the event, supporting our efforts and being a critical cog in its overall success.
Cheers to Hop Blossom 2018!
